*****GOLFWEEK 2008 - "TOP 100 COURSES YOU CAN PLAY"

Florida’s New and Exciting Links Course

The course at The Golf Club of Bridgewater located in Lakeland Florida, is another amazing design by architect Steve Smyers. He has carved out 18 magnificent holes, each having its own specific challenge. You must play “HEART BREAK RIDGE”. It is number 4 and has become a favorite for few and a menace for many more. With a tight driving area to a narrow 12 foot elevated green surrounded by water left and a 12 foot deep bunker right, this hole challenges the better players to conquer it.

The goal was to build an interesting test of golf for all skill levels, but specifically be a stern challenge for the long hitting players. Steve Smyers accomplished this by developing this links style course with a risk-reward approach especially around the greens. The green complexes are large averaging 10,000 square feet giving a changing look every time you play it.

Bridgewater open to limited play in January of 2007 will have its Grand Opening in September of 2007. It is a semi-private club with championship golf, in a beautiful setting, with a 19th hole to celebrate, good location, moderate price, and “just golf” are a few of the many reasons to experience Bridgewater. The golf course is 18-holes with no homes. Escape to the isolation of just you, fairways and greens.

Bridgewater requires careful thought to play well and rewards classic shot making. The layout with each of its distinctly different holes, will provide you with a lasting memory of the round, making this "One of your favorite golf rounds in Central Florida"

Experience golf as it was meant to be.
